any difference to "free" vs licensed SES?

Thank you for the details. The Segger's Embedded C library, which is only provided as binary, are there limitations on it's use? Are there any license restrictions on it's use, if a commercial license of SES purchased? Any additional/hidden costs? Does SES also come with optimized C++ library for embedded? Does the C/C++ library come in two builds - one for debug (non-optimized, with full debug info), one for release (fully optimized) ?

any difference to "free" vs licensed SES?

Are there any differences? Features all same? May be the sources for embedded C library are provided in the paid version?

"No editors" (sub)menu ..?

Quoted This "popup" is just an indicator that you can drag open source files from the editor in that window and inspect it. .. Could you clarify how to use this? In the context of my picture provided, what would I drag where?

[SOLVED] Using Segger GDBServer with mx6ull EVK, and getting message: "Unable to start core"...

Quoted from "SEGGER - Nino" I could not find any reference to the function Report() but there is one for JLINK_SYS_Report() in the user manual. Best regards, Nino Try this from Segger's Linux install : grep -rn Report /opt/SEGGER/JLink/Devices/ many scripts use "Report". Also saw that you can looks like drop the "JLINK_" prefix entirely : e.g.: MEM_WriteU32 works without it fine.

"No editors" (sub)menu ..?

When I click on something which looks like a grey button, e.g. Project Explorer, or Contents, I get a sub-menu item shown "No editors" See picture attached. Is that bad, and what do I do about it? Do I need to assign some editors? What would I assign (and where..) for the examples shown on the pic.

Using alternative GCC/binutils with SES

Is it possible to plugin/ configure SES to use alternative GCC/BINUTILS than one it comes with? Say if SES lags, and I want to use later builds by GNU ARM, or from another project all together. (Something you could do with Eclipse + GNU ARM Eclipse plugin, you can configure many GNU GCC cross compilers, toolchain locations)

[SOLVED] cannot find entry symbol reset_handler...

Fedora 24. Screenshot of failed build attached. Also, attached export solution file .. (i'm not familiar with those on ES, but hopefully contains project setup). Also, I've downloaded your solution file, and the project builds. I don't understand why, I checked the target is same, and the example seems same. Which version of ES you using, and which 'project template' do you select when creating the project? I selected "A C/C++ executable for Cortex-M processor (internal tools and external GNU to...

Wanted to give a quick go at the Embedded Studio. Created an iMX7/M4 project, with default hello_world. Modified nothing, pressed build. Segger's marketing material here: https://www.segger.com/products/debug-pr…ver/#tab-3425-1 states that : " The tunneling mode allows the engineers from Europe to remotely connect to the J-Link in India without having the hardware on their desk." Fail to connect to Segger J-Link Pro with Ethernet connection, using TCP/IP

Quoted from "SEGGER - Niklas" Hi, sorry for the delay in response. So we established that the simple setup (J-Link PRO/PLUS, Remote Server, and Client (J-Link Commander) in one place works for you when trying from home, but the same simple setup does not work when trying from inside your company's network. This indicates that the issue is caused by the company's network / firewall. If this cannot be changed by your Administrator, would it make sense to give a Laptop + LTE a try? Best regards, N...

Connecting with JLinkExe to iMX7D / M4 core after Linux booted on A7 resets SoC

And I'm back with debugging M4 on iMX7D module problems. I'm using NXP's SABRE iMX7D, as sold. I can connect & debug on M4 if Linux was not booted on A7 core(s). If Linux did boot, then any attempt to connect with JLinkExe to M4 seems at some stage during connect attempt resets the SoC. Any idea .. ? JLinkExe -device Cortex-M4 -autoconnect 1 -if JTAG -speed 4000 -JTAGConf -1,-1 -JLinkScriptFile /opt/SEGGER/JLink/Devices/NXP/iMX7D/NXP_iMX7D_Connect_CortexM4.JLinkScript SEGGER J-Link Commander V6....
