[SOLVED] J-Link Ver6.22a not working with LPC4370 anylonger

Hi Hans, Great to hear that you are up and running again. Quoted Thanks so much for your help. Your support is really good at SEGGER. Thank you for the flowers So does that also solve your initial issue with connecting to the LPC? If so i would close the case. Best regards, Nino

Issues switching from ST-LINK to J-LINK

Hello, Have you connected the MCU supply voltage to the VTref pin (Pin 1) of the debug interface? I ask because J-Link Commander is outputting VTref = 0.000 V As our debug probes can work with ~10000 different devices a wide range different signal voltages is needed. Generally we support 1.2 V - 5 V. If you do not connect VTref J-Link does not know what voltage to supply and thus will not establish connection to protect your device from damage. How to wire the debug interface is explained here: ...

"No editors" (sub)menu ..?

Hi, Attached are two screenshots showing what I mean. So basically you can move open source files, in this case main.c and startup... .S to different window docks so you can inspect multiple files at once. When you try moving one of these open source files by drag and drop you will also see some additional window areas pop up saying "Empty Dock". These are additional places you can drop windows and sourcefiles at. Does this make more sense to you? Best regards, Nino

Issues switching from ST-LINK to J-LINK

Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. Such an issue is not known to us. When setting up True Studio did you folow the following guide? https://www.segger.com/products/debug-pr…lic-truestudio/ The log suggests that the connect under reset is not working. Is the reset pin from the MCU connected to J-Link? Are you using an eval board or custom hardware? To get True Studio out of the equation could you run J-Link Commander (one of the programs in the J-Link Software and Documentation pack) and post a s...

[SOLVED] J-Link Ver6.22a not working with LPC4370 anylonger

Hi Hans, Quoted I also tested 6.22b and i still get the error. Screenshot attached. Oh bother, so it seems to be something else. The problem is that we can't reproduce the behaviour in house whatsoever so it is tough to debug this issue without a debug setup on our side. What makes me wonder is how did you give your J-Link Plus an IP address over DHCP? Did you actively change some configuration or how did that happen? If this is not your doing I suspect that the config area on the J-Link might b...

Debugging issues in secure monitor mode

Hi Isidoro, Sorry for this misunderstanding. I just read monitor mode and not *secure* monitor mode (ARM and their naming conventions ). It looks that somehow the CPSR register either can't be read or is interpreted wrongly as usually the J-Link also "does not care" on what mode the CPU is in (as long as it is a valid one). Quoted The platform ATSAMA5D2x (I'm using the SAMA5D2 Xplained Ultra Evaluation Kit) Fantastic, we have a couple of this available so we should be able to reproduce your setu...

Start application for empty SAMG55 devices in production environment

Hi, You wrote: Quoted Even a power-cycle wouldn't bring the unit up. Are you talking about the programed target device? If so then this whole issue seems to be related to the application you are trying to program into the target. When doing a power on reset the application should always start running... If it does not the programmed application is broken in some way. Try to debug the application and find out why it is not starting in the first place. If the application does not run on its own th...

Identical source files in Ozone

Hi Kevin, Thank you for providing the files. We were able to reproduce the behaviour with the provided files. To be sure where the issue is coming from we would need you to provide us your project (ideally) or at least the uVision project file to get an idea where this double information is coming from. Could you provide this? Do you build a library out of sources in your project and the library is being reused somewhere? This might be a potential sources of this double display of some functions...

[SOLVED] J-Link Ver6.22a not working with LPC4370 anylonger

Hi Hans, Ok great. This is a good indicator that it might be fixed with the latest version as well. When running your tests when it did not work, did you have multiple connections open to J-Link? For example multiple Commander instances or Commander + J-Flash etc.? Could you try out the newest version V6.22b which we released yesterday that hopefully should solve the issue? Best regards, Nino

Debugging issues in secure monitor mode

Hello Isidoro, Thank you for your inquiry. Such an issue is not known to us. You seem to be using a SAM-ICE which is not supported through SEGGER but directly by ATMEL. So unfortunately I am not allowed to spend much time with this case. Are you using an eval board or custom hardware? Did you use the monitor mode example from our website as base? https://www.segger.com/products/debug-pr…mode-debugging/ You can evaluate it with our IDE Embedded Studio for free: https://www.segger.com/products/dev...

Debugging external binary

Hello szoshi, Thank you for your inquiry. Generally that is possible. You can do this by simply pressing F11 (Step into) when reaching one of the library functions. Then you should land in the disassembly window where you can now step instruction wise through the disassembly code even while executing "unknown" library code. Does this answer your question? FRDM-KL28Z with current J-Link OpenSDA firmware

Hi, Quoted I don't think I can downgrade the OpenSDA bootloader to v2.0, but you should be able to upgrade v2.0 to v2.2 using the DAPLink image from mbed website (step 1 on following link) Completely understandable. We have a couple of boards here so I will give it a go with one of them. I will inform you once I have gathered more information. Best regards, Nino

Error while compiling J-Link script file

Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. The issue is that the latest J-Link software versions do not support some older Scriptfile formats. IAR ships with J-Link V6.16f which was able to parse these old commands. Unfortunately we do not provide JLinkScript support for ADuCM4x50 devices directly as they are provided and supported by AnalogDevices themselves. An up to date version can be found in the J-Link software V6.22a install folder under /Devices/AnalogDevices/ADSP-CM41 This Scriptfile comes with...

FRDM-KL28Z with current J-Link OpenSDA firmware

Hi, I think i have to rephrase what i wrote. The firmware we provide has been tested with a FRDM-KL28Z board that runs open SDA 2.0 and this configuration is working. Any other configuration is not tested and thus currently not supported. It might be that newer FRDM-KL28Z board revisions ship with other/newer open SDA versions. We will see if we can get such a board and add support eventually. Best regards, Nino
