shared library not found in GNU/Linux

Hello, The J-Link software package for Linux installs the software per default to /opt/SEGGER/JLink/. This is where some of the tools in the package expect the library to be. It is currently not supported to link the library from other locations. Makse sure your tools and J-Link libs are in the same folder or the library can be found in the opt/SEGGER/JLink folder. Best regards, Nino

JLINK plus on Linux

Hello Steven, Quoted Ok, but how do I give a script file to run on startup? I cannot find a description of command line args (reading UM08001) See picture attached. Quoted Is the gui stuff restricted to running on windows? It appears there is no "linux control panel"? The control panel does not exist as an icon in Linux but is rather implemented in other tools like Ozone or Embedded Studio. Quoted How do I configure a new entry for my AT91M40800? it is in your supported devices list, but it is n...

Unable to set breakpoints in iMX7 QSPI based M4 application with the J-Link Base

Hello, Quoted Question: Why doesn't the J-LINK use hardware breakpoints in this scenario instead of relying on flash breakpoints? The default is to use Flash BP to ensure that no unexpected errors show up for the user when using HW BP as they are very limited in use and many IDEs handle them incorrectly. Also HW BP are not supported by Cortex-M4 over address 0x1FFFFFFF so it would not work anyways. You can disable Flash BP e.g. in the J-Link control panel if wanted. How does uboot configure the ...

Trace timeline only goes to 10M instructions?

Hello, the high memory usage does not seem normal. Could you provide us with a reproduction scenario? I suspect you are using macOS? If yes which version? What target device are you debugging? Is it an eval board or custom hardware? Could you provide us with the elf file you are debugging? Best regards, Nino

j-ling debuging in MCUXpresso IDE v10.1.1_606

Hello, From the screenshots the target voltage VTref is suspicously low. Are you running the target device in some low power mode? For this particular device 3.3 V are usually expected. If you run it in low power mode keep in mind that some modes disable debug interfaces so J-Link can't access the device anymore. We recommend driving the device at 3.3 V for debugging. J-Link and System Workbench for STM32

Hello Ulrich, Thank you for your inquiry. Such an issue is not known to us. Please understand that we can't give support for System Workbench and the Eclipse Plugin as both are not maintained by us. From J-Link perspective the debug probe only does what the IDE requests from it. So the issue is most likely related to how the IDE handles J-Link and not J-Link itself. Did you follow our recommended setup steps for System Workbench? https://www.segger.com/products/debug-pr…ench-for-stm32/ For refer...

[SOLVED] iMX6UL - DDR initialization for u-boot

Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. Quoted Does SEGGER provide scripts for initialization of DDR on the iMX6ULEVK platform? Or example scripts for some iMX6 platform that can be tailored for the EVK? We do not provide example scripts for device specific peripheral or memory initialization. As user v01d correctly suggested we recommend contacting NXP in this case. Best regards, Nino

Jlink commander config script

Hello Steven, Thank you for your inquiry. You can either use one of these methods: https://wiki.segger.com/Using_J-Link_Script_Files Or in case of J-Link Commander you can use the command line options on startup e.g. JLink.exe -JLinkScriptFile example.JLinkScript If you want to use the script file with all tools anyways you can add it permanently to the device name. So each time that device gets selected the script file gets loaded. For this add it to the /Devices folder in the J-Link install di...

Trace timeline only goes to 10M instructions?

Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. The 10M instructions in Ozone timeline is currently a hard limit which will be lifted in future versions. Unlimited is currently true for all code profiling, coverage, and instruction counter information. The timeline had to be capped due to careful resource management with that much trace data on the host PC. This is however not necessarily needed anymore and will be improved. Quoted Then a similar question is whether or not there is a history horizon on what ...
